PostgreSQL CHECK constraints may only reference the row being inserted or updated. A CHECK that compares against other rows can pass simple tests yet fail during pg_dump restore, because rows load in an order that may not satisfy it.

Store runtime dependencies in [project.dependencies] and build requirements in [build-system.requires] of pyproject.toml, then pin exact versions with sha256 hashes in a separate requirements file to create a byte-level verifiable release contract.

This article explains how to choose effective chunk boundaries and overlap in retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) systems, comparing fixed-size and document-aware strategies. Using a hypothetical support note example, it demonstrates the risks of splitting across semantic units and shows how metadata and overlap can preserve context. The guidance is based on Microsoft Azure documentation for chunking in vector search and RAG workflows.
